Interpretation by Ven. Khedrup
Geshe Sonam Ngodrup returns to Maitreya Institute for a special weekend teaching on Jetsun Losang Chokyi Gyaltsen's Root Text on Mahāmudrā. The teachings of Mahāmudrā explain profound methods that allow practitioners to meditate directly on the mind itself. Through this profound system, one develops the concentration necessary to develop insight into the relative (conventional) nature of the mind, after which the practitioner is able to develop special insight penetrating the mind's ultimate nature.
Geshe la will present this profound topic together with meditation on the Four Foundations of Mindfulness (on body, feelings, mind, and phenomena) to propose a practice of meditation that is immediately available for practitioners of different levels of experience. The meditations with be enriched with commentary about how to integrate the experiences of mindfulness and Mahāmudrā in a way that provides tools both for developing greater mental clarity and peace in daily life.
