At our location in Loenen, we have both our shop and publishing house.

Our shop

Our store is open for limited times during Maitreya Institute teaching weekends. However, if you'd like to make an appointment, we are happy to open the store for you! So please contact us before you come so that we can ensure that someone is present. We are normally open on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Publishing house Maitreya

Our publishing house, “Maitreya Uitgeverij”, began in 1981 with our first publication. Our priority has been to publish materials that reflect the goals of the institution. In addition, we offer a broad range of new titles to help students and interested parties in their daily lives and in their practice of Buddhism. For more information about Maitreya Uitgeverij contact us at: info@boeddhaboeken.nl Since 2019 the Maitreya Uitgeverij has been headed by Eric Leenderts, who also serves as the chairperson of Maitreya Institute. 

The Maitreya Book Fund

The Maitreya Book Fund aims to make new titles possible through loans and (partly, but under certain conditions even fully tax deductible) donations. The loans are for a period of 5 years, with annual interest paid on them. We can also make the agreement that you donate the interest to us annually, so that the proceeds of your loan consist only of the tax refund. Donations of any amount are always welcome! This can be done as a general donation, for which the publisher can cover various costs, but also specifically for a certain expense. For example, by sponsoring a translation, which is always the highest cost item, and is typically several thousand euros. By sponsoring such an expense, additional copies can be printed and reach (many) more people. As a sponsor, you are mentioned in the book. The Maitreya Uitgeverij website, www.boeddhaboeken.nl, offers Dutch-language and English-language books and e-books on various Buddhist topics, regardless of tradition. In determining our assortment, we take into account both the students of Maitreya Institute and those in general who are interested in Buddhist insights and applications, such as mindfulness.
