Lhabab Düchen celebration

According to the Tibetan calendar, the twenty second day of the ninth month (usually in October or November) is celebrated as ‘Buddha Shakyamuni’s descent from the heaven of the 33’ (Trayastrimsa). The mother of the Buddha was reborn in this heaven and out of gratitude for her goodness, the Buddha spent three months there to give teachings to the gods there and to free his mother from samsara. A week earlier, on the 15th of the ninth Tibetan month, we celebrate that the Buddha accepted to return to Earth from the ‘heaven of the 33’.

On the occasion of Lhabab Düchen this year, and on the advice of Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Ven. Losang Gendun will lead us in the practice of the Sixteen Arhats and other recommended practices. This will take place in the centre on October 27th from 16.00 - 17.30 hrs. It is also possible to join the practices online thruogh Zoom.
